Hi there and welcome to my site!

I am Cherie Herne, a freelance graphic and web designer. I graduated with honors from the Art Institute of Colorado. Snowboarding, skiing, kayaking, biking, hiking, tennis and golf were the main reason I picked CIA for school, however after being in Colorado I realized it was my love of nature and the outside world that really brought me there. I was born, raised and live in southern Maine although my heart remains in the west. I love the bumper sticker, “boarder chic,” baby birds in soft, little nests, the incredible feel of a western, natural hot-spring when you leap in and the smell of autumn leaves during Indian summer.

Regardless of your business, my passion is designing, and if you have a unique and interesting product or service, I want to promote your business. Stolen Menu Cafe is interviewed by NECN's TV Diner

Friday, July 9 NECN's TV Diner aired a segment about The Stolen Menu Cafe. "TV Diner" is a restaurant-review television program hosted by broadcaster Billy Costa, also known as the sidekick on KISS 108 radio's "Matty in the Morning" show. The segment featured two innovative dishes - "Take a Bite Out of Maine" and "Sticky Bun French Toast." The cafe won TV Diner's Platinum Plate Award.
Owner and chef MJ Bailey has been a client of mine for two years. After having her website designed and redesigned by variious local agencies, MJ hired me. MJ felt her site was not reflecting who she was or the creative and scrumptiously to-die-for food she was inventing. MJ wanted a site that grabbed people's attention and as she said to me, "I want to say Cock-A-Doodle-Dooo... check out my daily specials!" That is where the crowing rooster on her site came into play. MJ now receives nearly 3,000 hits to her website monthly and is busier than she ever dreampt of. York Family Dental Turns Up the Tunes!

Owner and dentist, Liz Vizentine playfully caters to people from age two to 100. Aside from the state-of-the-art equipment, and the excellent dental staff, York Family Dental rocks! When you enter the practice located at Cottacge Place in York, you may hear good old rock-n-roll, wrap, or maybe eve a kid's song. Whatever makes a patient more comfortable is what the office plays. Dr. Vizentine is small and cute. She is wearing braces and smiles constantly. There is no way you can go to YFD and feel scared or intimidated with Dr. V. at the helm and that is what she wanted her site to say. Giving Back is a Good Feeling.

Cherie feels it is important to not only give back, but to practice tithing as well. 10% of her income is donated back in design time or cash to people and nono-profit organizations who feed her spirit.

Since Shoofly’s inception in 2006, Cherie has donated her design work to include a logo and brochures for The Center For Wildlife in Cape Neddick, Maine as well as a handful of local organizations such as Saving Teens in Crisis Collaborative, Copper Cannon Kid’s Camp, Honor Flight, and Pease Greeters.
